CENTERTON, Ind. (AP) — Crews have begun demolishing an old coal-fired power plant that was shuttered three years ago in south-central Indiana.

Indianapolis Power & Light Co. had operated four coal-powered units at its Eagle Valley Generating Station until 2016.

IPL spokesman Fred Mills says crews began decommissioning those old units in early January at the site about five miles north of Martinsville.
