  • Beto O’Rourke is considered one of the Democratic frontrunners in 2020, and O’Rourke’s recent meeting with Barack Obama will likely heat those rumors up even more.

  • O’Rourke had previously said he wouldn’t seek office in 2020 but seemingly walked back on those comments recently.
  • Other candidates for the 2020 Democratic nomination include Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Corey Booker, and Kamala Harris.

  • Do you think O’Rourke is running in 2020?
  •   Would he be the frontrunner?

The outgoing El Paso Congressman, Beto O’Rourke, who launched a strong but unsuccessful insurgent campaign to oust the Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, reportedly met with former President Barack Obama in the midst of the speculation that he was putting forward a presidential bid in 2020.

According to The Washington Post, Obama held a meeting with O’Rourke in his post-presidency offices in Washington last month. Although O’Rourke told CBS News’ “60 Minutes” before Election Day that, win or lose, he would not run for office in 2020, the progressive Texas congressman walked back his pledge two weeks ago and did not rule out a future bid.

During a town hall in his border district at the end of November, O’Rourke said he and his wife would “think what we can do next to help this community to the best of our ability” after his third term in January.
